As our newInternal Controller, you will become the expert on the use, maintenance and reporting of the internal controls system. Functionally ensuring the control system isoperating and producing valid data, aligned to the organisational structure; monitoring its use by control operators and assurance/ validation teams; producing reports from the system and working with the Senior Internal Control Manager to follow up on control issues.
Initially this role will form part of a formal project group responsible for mapping and assessing internal controls, but once established, the role holder will become responsible for monitoring, reporting and advising on the internal control environment.Therefore the controller should be literate in the language of internal control and able to work across a range of business areas recording controls. A clear understanding of internal control standards is essential, as is the ability to focus on controls and be ruthlessly efficient in records, assessing design and uploading controls. The controller will agree upon documentation standards and ensure these are rolled out to the business.
