The IE Business Rules Programme sits within the Strategic Services & Transformation (SST) directorate of Immigration Enforcement. The aim of the Programme is to transform our enforcement capability using data.
SST is a great place to work, dealing with a diverse set of challenges such as IE Corporate performance reporting, IE Risk and Assurance, Transformation, and delivering an Illegal Working strategy, all directed towards making sure IE can work effectively.
The development of a Business Rules system has been a key part of Immigration Enforcement's (IE) transformation portfolio for the past few years.
Business rules is the method by which IE will identify and manage the flow of individual case records between business areas and identify which individuals should be recommended for various activities based on key characteristics such as harm, removability, and knowledge of whereabouts.
Business Rules is a data and digital programme comprising of 3 strands but all working closely together.
You will join this multi-disciplinary team to be a Data Product Owner. You will work daily with DSA (Data Services & Analytics) or MIDAS (Managed Integrated Data Analytics Services) delivery partners using Agile delivery methodology to design data features for workflow services and maintain existing live services.
You will also work closely with our sister team who work on the third strand, our digital workflow tool IPIC (Identify and Prioritise Immigration Cases).
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for (but not limited to):
* Leading on the development and delivery of data products to support operational and strategic colleagues across Immigration Enforcement.
* Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to design and deploy new data features for workflow across the business, committing to iteratively improve each one where appropriate.
* Attending and leading at agile ceremonies, providing business direction to development team.
* Managing and prioritising backlogs whilst working with operational leads across the business to refine acceptance criteria for data features and outputs.
* Leading on and designing testing strategies before deploying new data features or changes to existing ones utilising Atlas, CRS and other HO systems where applicable.
* Providing business direction to the delivery teams.
* Leading on developing statistical datasets and models with analytical and performance colleagues.
* Managing and leading on the rebuild of the data products into a cloud-based low-code solution.
Working Pattern
Due to the business requirements of this role, it is only available on a full-time basis.
