SEMH Teaching Assistant - Bury - January Start
Do you have experience working with children/young people with SEMH (Social Emotional Mental Health) difficulties or PTSD?
Prospero Teaching are supporting a secondary school in Bury who are looking for a committed individual to join the team on a full-time basis. You will be supporting students on a 1:1 or small group basis, and it is essential that you have recent experience supporting young people who can display challenging behaviour.
You must also be available full-time; part-time applicants will not be considered by the client.
The role is to start as soon as possible and will continue for the rest of the academic year.

Start Date: January 2025
End Date: July 2025
Full Time
Hours: 8:30am - 4pm
The Minimum Rate of Pay: GBP100 per day
EXPERIENCE
Relevant experience in a school or similar setting.
Experience of working with children and young people with special educational needs and/or social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
Experience of effectively and positively managing a class and leading learning with groups of pupils, using appropriate strategies to enable them to settle to learn.
TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
GCSE English/Maths at grade A to C or equivalent.
Commitment to all CPD offered.
Team Teach training would be beneficial to this role; however, this can be provided for free.
Up to date safeguarding training issued in the last 12 months (essential, however training can be provided).
Up to date prevent awareness & FGM training issued in the last 3 years (essential, however training can be provided).
Recent behaviour management training (desirable).
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
1. Hold Right to Work in the UK
2. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
3. Provide a minimum of two professional related references
4. Provide a full CV from high school to present with gaps explained
