Indie interiors is a multi award-winning interior design studio. Having won an Elite design award this year and Luxury property award for home worth £5-10 million last year, we are rapidly expanding and are looking for the next person to join our team. We work on projects across the whole of the UK and with some fantastic clients creating highly personalised and luxurious interiors. We work on projects from concept to fruition and pride ourselves on creating strong and long-lasting relationships with our clients.
Role Description
This is a full-time role for an Interior Architect at Indie Interiors. You will be responsible for designing and creating functional and aesthetically pleasing interior spaces, collaborating with clients to understand their requirements, selecting materials and finishes, and creating highly detailed drawings. You will be extremely proficient in SketchUp and have strong experience in creating detailed drawings of everything from bathrooms, cabinetry and interior architecture. Although this role is primarily for that of an interior architect, you will have exposure to the whole process behind a project from beginning to end. You will be expected to collaborate with the rest of the team and may work on everything from FF&E to schedule completion. Supporting the design director is key as well as collaborating with your teammates. As we are a small design company, we often have to work across the entirety of the business in order to gain the best results for our clients and create the most unique designs. This means that we require a team player who is extremely motivated. You will gain first-hand experience on the running of an interior design studio and we hope to work with you to further develop and enhance your skills as a designer.
Qualifications
* Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field with 2-3 years experience
* Extremely proficient in SketchUp, layout and other design software
* Excellent design and technical skills
* Strong knowledge of building regulations with site experience on plumbing, electricals etc.
* Effective communication and project management skills
* Attention to detail and a creative mindset
* Experience in residential design projects
* Driving Licence is a must
* Must be willing to travel to projects with early starts or late finishes. This is paid as overtime or can be taken as time in lieu. Advance diary planning is always done to allow for forward planning.
Due to company expansion and relocation, a southern office is currently being searched for and we aim to open our new design studio by 2025. With that in mind, it may be that you are expected to work remotely for a few months, meeting with the design director when necessary and also travelling to our midlands office is completely necessary.
The role is full time with usual office hours; however, we are not a company that necessarily believes in the 9-5pm work flow. Some of our designers work long days Mon-Thurs and a short day on a Friday. The director believes we all enjoy working here much more if it helps to fit with your own lives; however, it must not impact the business and work must also still be produced at the expected rate.
Overall, we are a hard working but fun, very open and transparent design studio who collectively celebrate our wins and are extremely determined to create a studio which is recognised globally.
Must have a valid UK driving license and permission to work in the UK.
