Job Title: Behaviour Mentor Location: Mansfield Salary: £85 - £95 per day Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent About the Role: GSL Education are working with a local college to support students with behavioural challenges, ensuring they develop the skills and strategies needed to engage positively with their education. The role involves working with individual students or small groups to promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and improved learning outcomes, while contributing to a safe and inclusive school environment. Key Responsibilities of a Behaviour Mentor: Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with behavioural challenges. Develop personalised behaviour management strategies to help students regulate emotions and actions. Work with students to set and achieve behaviour-related goals. Act as a positive role model, demonstrating appropriate behaviour and communication. Key Requirements of a Special Needs Learning Support Assistant: Teaching Assistant Level 2 or equivalent A sincere passion for working with children who have special educational needs. A genuine interest in understanding the challenges faced by young people with mental health and trauma issues. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Resilience and adaptability to deal with a variety of emotional and behavioural challenges. Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those with behavioural challenges, SEND, or mental health needs. Experience in schools, youth services, or alternative education settings is highly valued. Will have a Clear Enhanced DBS (Child Workforce/ Child and Adult Workforce) registered to the Update Service. – If you don’t already have a DBS, we can help you apply for one. Why Join Us?
