Service Engineer/ Service Technician / Mechanical Engineer required to join a leading, global power tools manufacturer.
The Service Engineer/ Service Technician / Mechanical Engineer will provide electrical and mechanical repair, service, maintenance, commissioning, calibration, fault finding, and on-site support for a range of industrial power tools, with a focus on bolting, material handling, and fastening solutions such as wrenches, drills, torque guns, precision tooling, and associated products.
Based primarily at the workshop near Preston, this role also involves travel to customer sites across the UK when required. This is a 12-month contract position with a view to becoming permanent.

Perform routine maintenance and repair on industrial power tools, predominantly bolting, material handling and fastening solutions including wrenches, drills, torque guns, fasteners, precision tooling and associated tooling products.
Troubleshoot and diagnose power tool malfunctions, offering effective repair solutions.
Calibration, commissioning and on-site support for bolting solutions and fastening systems.
Maintain service records and report on power tool performance and repairs.
Liaise with various engineering departments.
Based in the workshop near Preston with regular field service work across the UK.

Experience as a Service Technician, Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Workshop Engineer, Calibration Engineer, Mechanical Engineer M&E Engineer within industrial products.
Proven diagnostic skills on complicated electrical and / or mechanical engineering systems.
Hands on service maintenance background in power tools, pneumatic tools, electric motors, hydraulics, rotating equipment, automation, robotics, instrumentation or similar mechanical equipment. Full product training provided.
Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills for power tool repairs and maintenance is a plus.
A technical engineering degree, qualification, apprentice trained in mechanical engineering, HNC, HND, NVQ Level 3 or similar would be advantageous.
Full clean UK driving licence
Commutable to the workshop near Preston and Willingness to travel UK wide when required
