Job summary We are looking to recruit an Adult Safeguarding Lead Practitioner into our fast paced and dynamic Team. They are to work closely with other Named and Designated Professionals, Head of Safeguarding and the Clinical Leads for Safeguarding Adults in supporting all activities necessary to ensure that the Trust meets its statutory responsibilities in Safeguarding Adults, Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty. To participate in the West of Berkshire Safeguarding Adults Partnership Boards activities, this may include sitting on West of Berkshire Safeguarding Group or sub committees as appropriate. (These responsibilities should be shared with other Named and Designated Professionals). Main duties of the job To be Trust lead for the Mental Capacity Act. To be Trust lead for Prevent. To support clinical staff in Royal Berkshire Foundation Trust (RBFT) and offer advice and guidance in relation to Adult Safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act and Prevent. To advise police, social care and other agencies on health matters with regard to safeguarding adults in acute and community settings. To be responsible for the training of hospital staff in safeguarding adults and ensure the Trust is compliant with national guidance on training standards outlined within the Intercollegiate Document for Adult Safeguarding.
