With a focus on paediatric care, the post holder will be required to work alongside practitioners in practice as well as support the Clinical Practice Lead to meet clinical practice needs for Registered Practitioners, Healthcare Support Workers and multi-professional staff groups. This includes; The design, planning, implementation and evaluation of clinically focused study days and clinical Skills delivery for staff who are involved in direct patient care. Skills include: Cognitive or ‘thinking’ skills such as clinical reasoning and decision-making Non-technical skills such as team-working and communication Technical skills such as IV Therapy, Venepuncture and Cannulation, catheterisation Assess and benchmark clinical education which will support the development of new / extended clinical roles and new ways of working, to support primarily nursing and medical education Interpret and assess complex organisational and clinical practice needs aligned to current research, professional college guidance, best practice statements, national drivers and legislative requirements in order to inform organisational planning Provide on-going support, via specialist education knowledge and advice in the clinical environment and class room based education. Plan, design, monitor and formally evaluate the effectiveness of clinical development activities, to ensure the provision of a quality service, which meets the standards of the department To undertake educational / clinical practice audit relevant to role and maintain accurate databases of Staff undertaking enhanced role courses. Project manage local implementation of clinical service initiatives through multi-disciplinary working to ensure effective achievement of priorities.
