Job Description
This role is onsite at our Sandy (Bedfordshire) offices, 5 days a week.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Machine Setup:
Set up CNC machines, including loading materials, selecting appropriate tools, and programming as per specifications.
2. Programming:
Develop CNC programs using CAM software and/or G-code (preferably Fanuc) for machining operations.
3. Operation:
Operate CNC machines to produce parts within specified tolerances and quality standards.
4. Quality Control:
Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure product quality and conformance to specifications.
5. Troubleshooting:
Identify and troubleshoot issues with CNC machines, making adjustments as needed.
6. Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines and tools.
7. Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of machine setups, tool changes, and production runs.
8. Safety:
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment.
9. Collaboration:
Work closely with engineering and production teams to achieve production goals.
10. Continuous Improvement:
Suggest and implement improvements in machining processes to enhance efficiency and quality.
Basic Requirements
Qualifications:
1. Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, with a strong understanding of machining processes.
2. Strong technical aptitude and ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
3. Keen attention to detail and precision in executing machining tasks.
4. Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
5. Strong problem-solving skills to address issues during machine operation.
6. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and production schedules.
7. Stamina to stand for extended periods during machine operation.
