Prospero Health and Social Care are looking for enthusiastic Children and Young Adult Support Workers to join our team. This role is suitable for someone who has experience working with children and young adults, challenging behaviours, and mental health.
Job Description
The role of the Children and Young Adult Support Worker is to work directly with children and young adults with a diverse range of needs, including learning difficulties, autism, physical disabilities, and complex challenging behaviours. You will find yourself working in various settings, including the child's own home, health and social care settings, and out in the community. You will be required to support the individual's needs by providing physical and emotional support. You will also manage the wellbeing and behaviours, assist with care plans, risk assessments, reviews, and incident & accident reporting. You will need to maintain professional relationships with clients, family, and external health care professionals at all times.
We need you to:
1. Be able to adapt and act accordingly to situations.
2. Maintain a high level of patience and emotional resilience.
3. Be non-judgmental regardless of a person's needs and behaviours.
4. Remain calm under pressure and when dealing with challenging situations.
5. Have experience in working in a similar setting.
To be considered for this role you will need:
1. At least 12 months work experience working with children and young people with mental health issues and complex needs in the UK - essential.
2. Three years of references without gaps - essential.
3. An overseas police check if required.
4. A full driver's licence - preferable.
5. An enhanced DBS check on the update service as well as a clean criminal record.
6. Preferable but not essential to have qualifications in a relevant subject to health and social care.
