We’re on the lookout for people with a passion for User Experience Design (UXD) to work alongside our creative Content Makers & Technologists, supporting them and making sure all our products and services are accessible to all our users.
We don't require you to complete any of the optional sections or upload a CV or Cover Letter. We are looking for your potential to bring difference to the BBC. You can share examples of your passion for art and design from anywhere. That might be other work experience, your time in education, volunteering - even times you’ve helped your friends and family out with technical issues.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
What will you be doing on the apprenticeship?
As a User Experience & Design Apprentice you’ll collaborate with technical, editorial and product teams from across the BBC, to create enjoyable experiences that delight and are consistent across old and new media.
This will give you the opportunity to experience the wide range of roles that are possible in the BBC and provide you with a vast experience that will help you find the area that best suits your skills and interests to grow your career in the BBC.
What will you be studying?
You'll study for an industry recognised apprenticeship qualification and a degree in Digital User Experience (UX) Professional with Manchester Metropolitan University.
You’ll complete specialist modules such as:
* UX origins and applications
* UX human contexts
* UX practices
* Creativity through research
* Ethical considerations in UX
* Psychology and behaviour
* UX in the business
* Research methods
* UX futures

Where could the role take you?
On successful completion of your apprenticeship, you will be able to able to look for job opportunities inside or outside the BBC such as a graphic designer, junior UX designer, or UX researcher.
This scheme starts in September 2025, and you will be on a fixed term contract which means your contract is for the duration of the apprenticeship only. The duration of this scheme is 48 months.

Great User Experience Design apprentices are those who can demonstrate they:
* Have brilliant organisational skills and are great at problem-solving
* Are technically minded
* Are good communicators
* Can manage multiple deadlines and demands on your time
This scheme is aimed at non-graduates.
To be eligible for an apprenticeship at the BBC, you must:
* Be aged 18 or over when the apprenticeship starts in September 2025
* By the start of the apprenticeship in September 2025, have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for a minimum of 3 years.
* Be eligible to work in the UK full time for the duration of the apprenticeship contract.
* Not currently taking part in an apprenticeship scheme supported by the BBC or another organisation.
To apply for this scheme, you must also:
* Have achieved, or expected to achieve, by the start of the scheme, a minimum of 104 UCAS points from a combination of Level 3 qualifications which may include: A-levels, Advanced Apprenticeship, BTEC Diplomas or Extended Diplomas.
* Not have completed or hold qualifications in the apprenticeship subject at level 6 or higher
To complete the apprenticeship, you must have achieved Maths and English GCSE at Grade 4/C or above or National 5 (Scotland) at C or Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent qualification. If you have not achieved these qualifications by the start of your apprenticeship, you will be required to achieve Functional Skills Level 2 before the end of your apprenticeship when you take your end-point assessment.
