About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead and manage quality assurance activities across our external contract manufacturing and third-party supply chain partners. Reporting to senior management, you will ensure that all contract manufacturers and suppliers meet stringent quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements.
As a key member of the Quality Assurance team, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the end-to-end manufacturing process, ensuring that the product quality is consistent, and all customer requirements are met. Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee quality assurance for external contract manufacturers and third-party suppliers within the process engineering sector.
* Manage the supply chain, ensuring adherence to quality standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
* Conduct audits and inspections of manufacturing facilities to ensure compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
* Lead root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for quality-related issues.
* Ensure supplier performance meets business and regulatory expectations, collaborating with teams to optimise the supply chain process.
* Develop and maintain quality management systems to track, monitor, and report on supplier performance and compliance.
* Liaise with internal teams (operations, purchasing, and engineering) to ensure alignment on quality requirements and processes.
* Act as the primary point of contact for quality matters related to external suppliers, managing relationships and ensuring continuous improvement.
* Stay updated on relevant industry regulations and standards, ensuring the company’s practices remain compliant.
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience in a quality assurance role within plastics, process engineering, supply chain, or manufacturing environments.
* Experience managing external contract manufacturing and third-party suppliers.
* Strong understanding of (TS16949) quality management systems, regulatory compliance, and quality control processes.
* Ability to travel across the UK and occasionally overseas to audit suppliers and contract manufacturers.
* Excellent problem-solving skills, with experience in root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
* Strong communication skills, capable of building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Demonstrable experience in continuous improvement and driving quality enhancements across the supply chain.
