Grand Pacific is a colonial style bar and restaurant situated in a Grade II listed building at the top of King Street We are seeking dedicated and skilled chefs to join a our Kitchen working closely with the Sous and Head Chef. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food preparation and safety. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work well in a team environment. As a member of our kitchen team you'll be a valuable part of a team that thrives on the pressure of working in a busy food operation. You'll work alongside our Chefs as part of a tight-knit team in an exciting, fast-moving environment, preparing fresh locally sourced ingredients. Duties Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards. Assist in the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, cleaning and completing orders during service. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages to management. Participate in menu planning and development as needed. Requirements Proven experience as a cook in a restaurant or similar culinary environment is preferred. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary skills. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen. Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented atmosphere while maintaining high standards of quality. Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask effectively during busy periods. A positive attitude, strong communication skills, and willingness to learn are essential for success in this role
