About The Role
We are currently looking for Manual Centre Lathe & CNC Lathe turners, ideally time served but not essential, to machine centrifugally cast spun tube, rolled bar, forgings & offset carriers to supply the Aerospace, Oil & Gas, Power & Petro Chemical industries.
Principal Accountabilities:
We are looking for individuals who have experience using long bed lathes, machining standard bored/profiled tubes and offsets, using either CNC with Fanuc Series OI-TD or manual controls, turning component lengths up to 10 metres long in a wide range of stainless/super and carbon alloys.
You will be required to:
* Ideally have experience programming Fanuc Series OI-TD controlled lathes.
* Data collection i.e., recording of measurements before and after machining.
* Visual inspection on machined components.
* Experience using overhead cranes.
* Understanding quality issues.
* Familiarity with modern management techniques such as TPM and 5S.
* Working safely throughout all activities in line with Paralloy’s safety standards and procedures.

The successful candidate will have the following skills/experience:
* Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in turning working in a manufacturing environment.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and translate these into producing dimensionally correct component profiles using a manual or CNC lathe.
* Programming Fanuc Series OI-TD controlled lathes, not essential but would be an advantage.
* MUST be able to work to tolerance and accurately using Micrometres/Callipers/Bore Comparators, wall and surf gauges.
* MUST have high attention to detail.
* An ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
* Able to operate on your own initiative, but also able to contribute to a team environment.
* Flexible attitude towards work and overtime, including shift working (2 weeks days & 2 weeks nights shift pattern).
* A good understanding of health & safety, environmental issues and quality rules.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
