About the Role
Fairbrook Medical Centre located in Borehamwood, is looking to appoint an experienced business and compliance manager to play a vital role in the smooth business operations and compliance within the centre. This is a newly created position, offering the opportunity to influence key operational processes and contribute to the overall efficiency of our practice.
This position is offered on a part-time basis working 28-30 hours per week working Monday to Thursday, but we are open to discussion on these days/hours.
Duties will include:
1. Implement necessary contract adjustments for GPs and communicate updates to relevant staff.
2. Draft and update practice policies and/or procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
3. Ensure services meet regulatory standards and patient expectations.
4. Lead the preparation for CQC inspections and ensure continuous compliance.
5. Handle patient and staff complaints, ensuring resolution is timely and effective.
6. Oversee communication and document sharing via TeamNet within the practice.
7. Plan and execute team-building initiatives to enhance collaboration and morale.
8. Manage and expand the practice's social media profiles (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), ensuring alignment with practice policies and regulations.
9. Regularly update the practice's website to keep it current and compliant with regulatory standards.
10. Lead the adoption of new technologies that improve efficiency, patient care, and practice operations.
11. Expand the use of digital tools within the practice to improve patient experience.
12. Develop strategies to expand the practice's use of social media resources.
13. Oversee staff parking permits and compliance with practice policies.
14. Provide assistance in other areas of the practice as needed.
15. Provide cover for the Operations Manager during absence, ensuring continuity.
16. Lead and manage new projects within the practice to drive innovation and efficiency.
About the Candidate
If you are an experienced manager looking for a new role, then we would love to hear from you. You will ideally have the following experience and skills:
1. Experience working within the NHS as a business or practice manager, particularly within a general practice setting.
2. Strong understanding of healthcare regulations and general practice operations.
3. Familiarity with NHS processes, including GP contracts and PCN management.
4. Exceptional organisational and time-management skills.
5. Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
6. Excellent communication skills for engaging with staff, patients, and external partners.
7. Experience in policy and procedure writing is highly desirable.
8. Proficient with IT systems, including TeamNet, website management tools, and office software (MS Office).
