REPORTING TO: Head of Financial Policy
Tracker Group is a UK-based, not-for-profit think tank. Our aim is to enable a Paris-aligned, nature-positive global economy by aligning capital market actions with planetary boundaries. We are the home of the two award-winning research brands, Carbon Tracker and Planet Tracker, which together comprise Tracker Group, combined under one corporate entity since 2022.
Together, we mobilise investors and corporates alike to intervene on issues surrounding climate change, the energy transition, and nature and biodiversity, seeking to drive fundamental, systems-level change in how financial markets address these seismic global issues. To achieve these changes, we work with the full range of other stakeholders, including policymakers, regulators, academia and NGOs.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are looking for an Associate Analyst to join our Financial Policy team. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to our policy engagement and research work covering the UK and Europe, assisting with the development of public materials from the very beginning and socialising our research outputs with key stakeholders.
Responsibilities will include:
* Supporting with UK and EU policy and regulatory consultation responses, as well scoping out other policy and regulatory opportunities linked to the Financial Policy team’s work programmes.
* Assisting with Parliamentary and other stakeholder mapping in the UK and EU to identify policymakers who might support our objectives.
* Supporting the team in writing high quality research outputs and public reports linked to existing work programmes, exhibiting sound judgement and critical thinking.
* Staying on top of new UK and European financial policy publications and CSO campaigns/events linked to the team’s work programme.
* Maintaining partnerships and supporting external stakeholders with ad hoc analysis as required.
* Working independently and alongside others to achieve team and organisational objectives.
* Collaborating with team members and contribute to a knowledge-sharing culture within the research teams.
* Speaking to research findings and policy recommendations to the media and at public events.
