We are delighted to be expanding our pool of casual Visitor Experience Ambassadors to support our council’s events programme. This is an exciting opportunity to join Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Visitor Experience Team, supporting events including this year’s Stockton International Riverside Festival (SIRF), taking place from 1st August – 3rd August 2025, and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to support the Stockton and Darlington Railway 200th Bicentenary Celebration events on 20th and 28th September 2025.
What we are looking for:
* Enthusiastic individuals with a genuine interest in events and providing excellent customer service.
* A natural flair for dealing with people.
* Excellent communication skills.
* A willingness to respond to visitor queries in a polite and efficient manner.
* Initiative and the ability to think on your feet.
What you’ll be doing:
As an ambassador, you will be the first point of contact for artists and the general public, ensuring that everyone who visits our events has an unforgettable and enjoyable experience. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet new people, get involved, and be right in the action of the Borough’s most exciting events. This is a fulfilling and varied role which will involve making lots of people smile!
Role details:
* This is a casual role; to join a pool of VE Ambassadors and you must be available to work during the times of the events including SIRF from Friday 1st August – Sunday 3rd August 2025 and S&DR200 on Saturday 20th September and/or Sunday 28th September 2025.
* You may also be contacted to work on other events throughout the year, on an ad-hoc basis. Please note, we are unable to guarantee any specific hours, however, you will be paid a minimum of 4 hours for each shift.
* Please be aware that Stockton and Darlington Railway events will be held in both Stockton-on-Tees and Darlington, and you may be required to support operations in both areas.
