Accounts Manager
Location: Mansfield, Nottinghamshire (Office-based)
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 (dependent on experience)
Hours: Full-time, Permanent (Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm)
Holidays: 28 days including bank holidays

We are a fast-growing and well-respected construction and property development company based in Mansfield, delivering high-quality residential and commercial projects across the Midlands and wider UK.
Due to ongoing expansion, we are looking for a skilled and confident Accounts Manager to lead our finance function from our head office in Mansfield. This is a full-time, office-based role, offering a great opportunity to become a key part of a professional, driven, and close-knit team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all day-to-day finance activities, including accounts payable/receivable and bank reconciliations
2. Maintain and manage our Xero accounting software (or similar)
3. Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with HMRC deadlines
4. Manage and submit monthly CIS returns with full compliance
5. Support payroll processes and pension contributions (liaising with payroll providers)
6. Produce monthly management accounts, P&L reports, and cash flow forecasts
7. Assist the MD with budgeting, cost control, and financial planning
8. Maintain accurate and organised financial records
9. Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, clients, and HMRC as required
10. Constantly review systems and processes to identify efficiencies and improvements
The Ideal Candidate:
1. Proven experience in a similar accounts/finance role, ideally within the construction industry
2. Confident user of Xero or other cloud-based accounting software
3. Good working knowledge of VAT rules and the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS)
4. Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
5. Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
6. Professional and confident communicator with both internal and external stakeholders
7. AAT qualified or equivalent preferred, but not essential if backed by strong experience
