About the Role:
As a Behaviour Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with behavioural challenges, helping them to engage positively with their education and develop essential social skills. This role involves working closely with teachers and other support staff to create a nurturing and structured environment that promotes positive behaviour and learning.
Behaviour Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
* Provide one-on-one and group support to students with behavioural challenges, helping them to manage their behaviour and engage effectively in classroom activities.
* Implement behaviour management strategies and interventions tailored to the individual needs of students.
* Assist teachers in developing and maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
* Monitor and record student behaviour, providing regular feedback to teachers, parents and relevant professionals.
* Support the development and implementation of Individual Behaviour Plans (IBPs) and personalised support strategies.
* Foster a positive and supportive relationship with students, encouraging their social and emotional development.
* Collaborate with the wider school team to promote a consistent approach to behaviour management.
Behaviour Teaching Assistant Job Requirements:
* CACHE Level 2 or 3 or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Teaching Assistance or specific training in behaviour management is highly desirable.
* Prior experience working with children or young people with behavioural challenges, ideally within an educational setting.
* Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and effective strategies to support students with challenging behaviour.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and families.
* Patience, empathy and a commitment to providing high-quality support to students with diverse needs.
* The ability to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach.
* Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
