Job Description
Responsible for the operational efficiency of all aspects of the linen room including staff uniform management and the service delivery of this area within budgeted guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities – (Key Activities of the role)
1. Oversee the implementation of linen room standards and procedures
2. Recommended changes to these standards and training needs on an ongoing basis
3. Maintain a current and thorough knowledge of all linen room systems
4. Open and close the shift and ensure effective shift hand over
5. Distribution and collection of keys
6. Management of all incoming and outgoing calls to Housekeeping Department
7. Solve employee grievances
8. Direct task allocations and change according to volume and peak periods
9. Perform quality inspections
10. Prioritize VIP or difficult guests
11. Liaise with Laundry and Housekeeping for guest and hotel requirements
12. Ensure staff uniforms and hotel linen is processed and delivered in a timely manner
13. Co-ordinate special projects (eg equipment routine service; stock inventories)
14. Manage all special requests made by guests
15. Ensure consistency within the department
16. Ensure you have complete knowledge of hotel departments, service areas, layouts and facilities and the location of these
17. Supervise linen storage areas
18. Perform linen / uniform inventory and various report
19. Maintain adequate stock levels
20. Complete stock-takes as required
21. Conduct shift briefings to ensure hotel activities and operational requirements are known
22. Conversant with emergency evacuation and fire procedures
23. Is prepared to implement assigned tasks during emergencies such as fires, power failures and bomb threats
24. Perform other tasks assigned based on Movenpick Resort Phan Thiet needs or requirements
Qualifications
1. 2 years laundry experience preferably in a hotel of similar size and complexity and including supervisory experience or training.
2. Type and level of experience required may vary slightly based on size and complexity of operation
3. High School or Diploma in Hotel Administration, Hotel Management or equivalent
4. Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with others; demonstrated ability to interact with customers, employees and third parties that reflects highly on the hotel, the brand and the Company.
5. Able to speak, read and write English and Vietnamese
6. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
7. Organizational and training abilities
