This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a small team, building strong relationships with communities, schools, workplaces, and other local organisations.
Stoke-on-Trent City Council manages a partnership, alongside neighbouring local authorities and train operating companies, that works to improve our local railway stations and encourage rail travel.
As a Community Rail Partnership Officer, you will help deliver the North Staffordshire Community Rail Partnership (NSCRP) action plan, which is a combination of projects and core activities, offering support to various community and school groups.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Bringing new volunteers on board and supporting them with their ongoing experience as part of the Community Rail Partnership.
2. Developing and engaging communities in fun, innovative, and informative activities.
3. Sharing resources and working with communities to reduce car use to and from train stations.
4. Increasing opportunities for walking, wheeling, and cycling to improve stations and encourage rail use for everyday journeys.
The Officer will be employed and supported by Stoke-on-Trent City Council and will be accountable to the NSCRP Management Committee for the delivery of its day-to-day activities with guidance and management provided by the Chair of NSCRP or a nominated person.
We are looking for someone with experience of leading activities for volunteers, schools, and community groups.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults, and we expect all our employees and volunteers to share this commitment.
