Resident Matron of Cloister House (Permanent, Term-Time Only)
Buckinghamshire
Wycombe Abbey
Full-time | Term Time
Summary
We are currently seeking to fill the position of Resident Matron of Cloister House (Permanent, Term-Time Only).
Detail
We are seeking a diligent and enthusiastic individual to provide support across a boarding house as Resident Matron of Cloister House. This is an incredibly important role providing pastoral care to the girls, under the leadership of the Cloister Housemistress and the Deputy Housemistress to create a relaxed, happy and caring environment for our girls.
Cloister House has around 50 pupils from ages 12 to 17, situated at Daws Hill at the top of the Wycombe Abbey site. Daws Hill was originally an 18th century hunting lodge home to the Carrington family when they sold the main Abbey building to the School. Within the collection of buildings making up Daws Hill, there are music practice rooms, a large dining room, kitchen areas and communal living rooms. The core values in Cloister are family, acceptance and happiness, and the running of the House is based on these values.
The successful candidate must have previous experience working with young people, a strong commitment to the boarding ethos, warmth, enthusiasm and excellent communication and organisational skills.
This is a residential role and the post-holder is therefore required to be a resident within the boarding House during Term time as well as before and after the beginning and end of terms in order to ensure the efficient preparation and running of the House.
Contract: This is a permanent, term-time only contract.
Hours: The Resident Matron will be on duty in the House at all times during term-time (approx. 32 weeks), with the exception of a 36-hour rest period each week. There will also be time off during the course of the day/evening.
To apply: Further details can be found under ‘Current Vacancies’ on our website: Wycombe Abbey Recruitment Hub. Please see the job profile document for full information about this role. To apply, please complete an application form and submit this, together with a covering letter, to the Headmistress, Mrs J Duncan by selecting “Apply for this job”. Should you have any questions then please do not hesitate to contact the HR Team on 01494 895575 or hr@wycombeabbey.com.
Closing date for applications: 28 November 2024.
We reserve the right to appoint to this position before the closing date, should we receive a high volume of suitable early applications.
