An exciting opportunity has here at the Royal Liverpool Hospital to join the Colorectal team for a 12 month secondment that will cover maternity leave.
We are looking to recruit a dynamic Advanced Nurse Practitioner to support the colorectal service on ward 5D. This will be an opportunity for an Advanced Nurse Practitioner with the skills and competencies to join the team.
We are seeking someone who is committed to providing excellent direct independent clinical practice.
Successful candidates will be expected to provide direct clinical care through independent assessment and examination of patients who are admitted to Ward 5D.
Candidates will be expected to have (or be willing to work towards) a relevant clinical master's degree (Level 7) in Advanced Practice (or equivalent) which includes a Non-Medical Prescribing (V300) qualification.
This post is directed at a qualified independent Advanced Nurse Practitioner for band 8a. The successful candidate will support the clinical team on a busy regional colorectal unit, carrying out practice autonomously supported by the colorectal team.
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in some audit and research.

Main duties of the job
Job summary:
To work closely with the Colorectal team to improve the experience and outcomes of care for patients by supporting the team in investigations and treatments prescribed.
To provide a consistent and personalised service by ensuring that patients receive the best care, in the best place, from the best person or team.
To provide social, emotional, and psychological support for patients from referral and throughout their treatment.
To deliver expert specialist evidence-based care including development, assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating programmes of evidence-based care for a defined caseload.
To make appropriate referrals to consultants/other specialists/members of the multidisciplinary team in primary, secondary, or tertiary care settings.
To be aware of risk management issues both locally and nationally and develop strategies to address identified issues.
The post holder will always work within the NMC's Code of Professional Conduct.
Job responsibilities
Clinical:
To maintain personal accountability for professional and ethical actions and ensure compliance with the standards of professional conduct issued by the relevant regulatory body.
To maintain and develop a specialist service for patients within the caseload, ensuring that treatment and follow-up of this group of patients is delivered in a timely manner.
To provide and maintain a diagnostic service for the Trust. Ensure clinician-led clinics provide for both diagnoses and reporting of subsequent results for identified patients.
To provide teaching as an in-house measure to all medical and clinical staff, not only within the Care Group but also from other services.
To provide a clinician-led clinic service to patients.
To plan and administer treatment to patients as appropriate and ensure handover of this treatment to community services as necessary.
To provide expert care, advice, and support for patients and their relatives/carers and ensure that advice and point of contact is available throughout the patients' journey.
To refer on to other agencies as appropriate.
To operate as a clinical specialist and expert practitioner in issues relating to the identified area of care. To direct and delegate care based on accurate assessment and evaluation.
To take consent for investigative procedures, manipulate equipment, and perform advanced clinical skills.
The post holder will be expected to work clinical shifts in a ward environment if necessary.

* Clinical professional qualification. Degree level or equivalent with appropriate registration.
* MSc Advanced Clinical Practice (ACP) or started the MSc ACP pathway/programme and committed to completing within an agreed time frame: Note: Post holder will be in a training post (Annex 21) until evidence of completion of MSc ACP is provided.
* Teaching and assessing qualification.
* Relevant post registration qualification/equivalent.
