Then this may be the role for you The Lancashire Emergency Duty Team is looking to recruit 3 permanent full time Social Workers, with a minimum of 3 years' post qualifying experience in front line childcare, undertaking safeguarding enquiries. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a dynamic team, committed to providing a professional service responding to statutory emergencies and other social work matters within the Childcare and Adult arenas that cannot be safely left until the following working day. The role entails carrying out an initial assessment of the presenting situation to establish a safe and viable solution until the matter can be picked up by day time services. Support is provided by the Duty Manager on shift. There may be instances when you will be required to work alone, with the support of a call taker, therefore the successful applicant will be required to work autonomously and exercise sound professional judgement in carrying out their duties. The role of an Emergency Duty Team Social Worker is generic and covers both Children's and Adult's disciplines. Whilst the team are looking for a strong childcare workers at this time, experience of Adult work would also be advantageous. However training will be provided. The Emergency Duty Team operates outside of core business hours and provides an Out of Hours service across Lancashire, covering evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Staff work to a 24 week rolling rota covering a range of shifts, largely based on the 4 days on 4 days off rota principle (see enclosed rota). The team currently work from home during the week and from the office base in Accrington, Lancashire at weekends. This arrangement remains under constant review, to ensure the team enjoy a healthy work life balance, as well as continuing to meet business need. Applicants applying for the role must be able to undertake visits across the County of Lancashire, if required, during their shift. The successful candidates can expect full management and peer support, regular supervision and access to a wide range of training opportunities. Out of Hours enhancements will be payable and calculated in accordance with hours worked outside of core business hours. The Emergency Duty Team covers the County of Lancashire, with the exception of Blackpool and Blackburn, and is based at Lancashire House, Enterprise Way, Accrington. You must be registered as a Social Worker with Social Work England to be appointed to this role. You will be required to provide a car for use in connection with the duties of this post and must be insured for business use.
