Don't miss this opportunity to join the friendly and dedicated Stroke Therapy team here at Airedale General Hospital: We are looking for an enthusiastic Physiotherapist with skills and experience in neurology and stroke rehabilitation to join our acute stroke team.
This specialist team is made up of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists who work as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team to deliver high quality therapy and rehabilitation for inpatients who have experienced acute stroke and a range of acute neurological conditions. The service is part of the Integrated Stroke Pathway, working closely with colleagues in the Community Stroke Team in order to provide a seamless transition from the acute setting to community.
Main duties of the job
1. To prioritise, plan and deliver clinical case work within the Stroke Unit.
2. To apply evidence based, specialist knowledge and skills to the stroke/rehab patients on the Stroke Unit.
3. Provide a key role in partnership working with patients, carers, the MDT, and wider statutory, private and voluntary sector services.
4. To support team members in ensuring the effective functioning of the team.
5. To actively participate in quality improvements to improve the Integrated Stroke Pathway.
6. Provide support to the clinical lead and service managers deputising for them as required.
7. Provide effective student training and development.
8. To undertake respiratory on-call work following training and competence assessment, and to join the respiratory on-call rota.

Qualifications
Essential
* Degree or equivalent pre-registration award in Physiotherapy
* State registrations with the Health Care Professions Council
* Recent post graduate courses relevant to Stroke/Neurological rehabilitation
* Completion of course in Professional Practice education
Desirable
* Successful completion of a professionally validated specialist courses
* MSc modules in a relevant area of practice
* Leadership courses
* ECDL or formal qualifications in word processing and spreadsheets
* Member of relevant Professional special interest groups/organisations
Experience
Essential
* Relevant and recent experience working at band 5 level
* Relevant and recent experience working in stroke/neurology
* Experience of multidisciplinary team working and working collaboratively with other professions and agencies including statutory, private and voluntary sector services
* Experience of guideline development, implementation and audit
* Experience of clinical supervision both as supervisee and supervisor
* Recent experience of student training
