If yes, this is the role for you We are seeking a dynamic Financial Controller for a 3-month fixed-term contract (FTC) to lead and develop a high-performing finance operations team in a well-established organisation based in South London. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this is a fantastic opportunity to oversee core financial operations, enhance internal controls, and play a key role in the organisation’s financial strategy. The key duties of this role are as follows: Oversee cash management, treasury operations, and banking relationships to maintain financial stability. Ensure compliance with financial policies, internal controls, and delegated authority matrices across the organisation, including international offices. Manage the preparation of statutory accounts, VAT returns, and compliance requirements. Support the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and internal stakeholders. Provide leadership to a small team, ensuring effective delivery of the transactional finance function. The successful candidate will have: Ideally fully qualified as an accountant or be qualified by demonstrable experience. Expertise in VAT compliance, statutory account preparation, and audit processes. Demonstrable experience in managing and developing a team through significant change. A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a track record of driving process improvements. Ideally, a background working in the not-for-profit sector.
