Manchester Communication Academy is a vibrant school that is at the heart of the community and is committed to improving educational outcomes for all of our students. MCA is proud to be a community hub and our outward facing work is exceptional.
In our Ofsted inspection in 2019 we were recognised as a GOOD school and want to build on this by recruiting excellent practitioners that are driven by evidence informed practice. MCA received Research School status in September 2019 and we are proud of the work that we conduct in partnership with the EEF and how this drives our teaching practice.
Manchester Communication Academy is fully committed to it’s ethos of with you…for you…about you…Not just for our students but also for all of our staff.
Student and Staff well-being is high on our agenda and your professional development and interests are a priority for us. We want our young people to get the best possible deal and that can only be achieved if their teachers are happy, healthy and know that they are valued.
The Role
This opportunity is perfect for a PE practitioner that has a passion for PE and school sport and is keen to support the health of our young people. It is not essential, but desirable that candidates can or are keen to teach BTEC tech awards in health and social care or child development.
We are passionate about the power and importance of physical education, what it brings to our students wellbeing and the impact this has on the life during MCA and beyond. Our curriculum is ambitious and exposes students to a variety of sports such as netball, rugby, football, basketball, athletics, rounders, gymnastics, orienteering and cricket. The PE department at MCA is part of the Health and Wellbeing faculty which hosts other subjects including food, dance, aspire, child development and health & social care. The team of teachers are enthusiastic, talented, knowledgeable but more importantly they are a warm and friendly group. We work as a team and support each other in all aspects of a PE teacher’s life whether that is curriculum, competitions, fixtures and personal wellbeing.
In 2024, the PE department was honored with the 'Secondary Outstanding Practice' award by the Youth Sports Trust, reflecting our dedication to delivering high-quality physical education. Additionally, we have recently been recognised as a beacon 'Well School, ' further highlighting our commitment to prioritising the well-being of both staff and students in everything we do.
We are committed to providing the very best educational and creative learning opportunities for our young people and we invite applicants who share this commitment and want to be part of our successful team.
All staff that work at MCA are committed to mitigating the impact of social disadvantage and this must therefore be part of your personal values. If you are a leader that role models great teaching, if you can forge superb relationships with staff, students and the community and can bring energy and initiative to your work, we would love to hear from you.
