Purchase Ledger Clerk The key responsibilities of a Purchase Ledger Clerk will include: * Accurate three-way matching of supplier invoices. * Obtaining authorisation, complying with an Authorisation matrix, for all non-system invoices. * Maintaining and managing a query log. * Liaising with suppliers regarding payments and queries. * Processing of all purchase invoices. * Maintenance of the purchase ledger accounts, ensuring balances are tidy, controlled and reconciled to supplier statements monthly. Ensuring unallocated cash and credit balances are kept to a minimum. * Processing of manual staff expense claims. * Management and payment of staff expense claims using a SAP Concur online system. * Preparing and performing on-line BACS payment runs. * Maintenance and verification of supplier bank details. * Setting up of new supplier accounts. * Reconciliation of Purchase Ledger to month end Nominal Ledger reports. * Ensuring purchase ledger processing complies fully all times. * Ad hoc support and cover for all members of a small finance team including accounting, cash book management, sales ledger, credit control and cash control.

A successful Purchase Ledger Clerk should have:
Previous experience in a Purchase Ledger Clerk/ Accounts Payable role.
Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
Proficiency in accounting software ideally SAP or Sage and strong MS Excel
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to work well within a team and independently
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
