An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Community Stroke Services for a Specialist Physiotherapist to join our team to cover maternity leave. The Community Stroke service provides Early Supported Discharge as well as support for people who have a new therapeutic need some time after their stroke. This is in line with the Integrated Community Stroke Service (ICSS) model providing a needs-based service. The role will join our multidisciplinary team which consists of Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, and Occupational Therapists as well as an experienced team of Associate and Assistant practitioners.
Main duties of the job
The key objectives for this post are to provide high quality, safe, evidence-based and goal-focused rehabilitation, supporting stroke survivors to become experts in their own care and remain in their own homes and to provide holistic assessment specialist physiotherapy intervention. Clear clinical reasoning, good assessment and intervention skills, and experience in neuro/stroke care are essential. You will be encouraged and supported to develop your clinical skills and be actively involved in service development.

* Registered physiotherapist with HCPC
* Professional knowledge and Skills acquired through a combination of formal training, short courses, and experience to degree level or equivalent.
* Relevant post qualification training through short courses and/or further study and experience for example splinting and injections, working towards post graduate level of study
* Evidence of on-going CPD
Desirable
* Registered member of Chartered Society of physiotherapy
* Recognised registered qualification and further courses and experience relevant to role
Knowledge
Essential
* Good theoretical and practical knowledge of a broad range of assessments including specialist relevant to the specialist care group and the relative benefits of each.
* Knowledge of the current evidence-based practice
