We currently have an opportunity for an experienced and driven Head Of Performance and Control Room to join our Water Services Directorate in Exeter. About the role: In this new leadership role you will have overall accountability for compilation and monitoring of Operational areas ODI performance with associated reporting, including input into Annual Performance Reporting.you will be responsible for the Control Room and overall management of the region’s Incident Response structure. The role should ensure that key learnings are actioned following review and the relevant business areas are updated. The role will need to collaborate with all operational departments across the region to ensure effective management of risk on water networks.
What you'll be doing:
1. Leading operational contact for the Environment Agency and related Pennon departments
2. Taking responsibility for designing and delivering key operational, environmental and ODI reports and ensuring they are underpinned by robust methodologies
3. Ensuring operational delivery of Water Resources and Natural Resources plans, including catchment management plans
4. Ensuring the region performs to a compliant standard on abstraction and compensation, identifying potential risks of breaches and implementing investigations to near misses or breaches.
5. Working with central teams on any required changes to existing licenses.
6. Preparing the region ready for EPA compliance
7. Being accountable for compilation and monitoring of regional ODI performance with associated reporting monthly and APR.
8. Taking responsibility for the Control Room, ensuring 24/7 sustainable coverage of the monitoring and control of production sites and the strategic network.
9. Being accountable for the overall management of the region’s Incident Response structure working closely with Business Resilience and the Devon & Cornwall Incident Response Manager.
10. Representing regions operations for integration activities across the group, particularly focused on Control Room and IT. Collaborate with SWW to work on integration, promoting and leading on the ‘best of the best’.
What we are looking for:
11. Degree educated or equivalent operational experience
12. Leading large teams in an operational control room environment.
13. Demonstrable experience of working and managing at a senior level within a complex organisation.
14. Experience in incident management, demonstrating the ability to handle and resolve incidents effectively.
15. Strong Internal and external performance reporting capability
16. Ability to multi-task and manage priorities to meet business needs and meet deadlines.
17. Planning, project management and problem solving skills
18. Experience of dealing with individuals at senior level within an organisation.
