The Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Operative with experience in the efficient and safe operation of PPT, LLOPs or pump trucks, within the warehouse or distribution centre. The role involves loading and unloading goods, moving stock to designated areas, and ensuring the accurate handling and storage of products. The MHE Operative plays a crucial role in maintaining the smooth flow of goods within the warehouse while adhering to health and safety regulations. About You Key Responsibilities: Equipment Operation: Safely operate various types of material handling equipment (MHE), including PPT, LLOPs and/or pump trucks Perform daily safety checks on MHE before use, reporting any defects or issues to the supervisor. Handle products carefully to avoid damage during transportation and storage. Loading and Unloading: Load and unload goods from delivery vehicles and containers, ensuring that all items are securely positioned and properly stacked. Transport stock to designated areas within the warehouse, such as storage racks, staging areas, or dispatch zones. Assist with the loading and unloading of vehicles for outbound deliveries, ensuring accuracy and safety. Health and Safety: Adhere to all health and safety guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe lifting techniques. Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring that aisles and walkways are free of obstructions. Participate in safety training sessions and contribute to a culture of safety within the warehouse. Teamwork and Communication: Work closely with other warehouse staff, including pickers, packers, and supervisors, to ensure efficient operations. Communicate any issues or delays promptly to the relevant team members or supervisors. Support the warehouse team with additional tasks as needed, such as packing, labelling, or general housekeeping. Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is desirable. Experience operating PPT, LLOPs or pump trucks is essential. Certifications: Valid MHE licences/certificates are required.
