An independent Newport based Accountancy Practice are looking to add an additional Payroll Officer to their Payroll department. The Practice are open-minded to whether you would like to work a four or five day week.
The Payroll Officer will be joining a relaxed and professional team where you will benefit from flexible working, good transport links and free on-site parking.
The successful candidate will have previous experience in processing payrolls of varied in size and complexity. Technical payroll knowledge is essential and Tax, NI, RTI, SMP, SSP, SAP and Auto Enrolment will be a minimum knowledge requirement. The ability to use Sage payroll is highly desirable.
It would be advantageous if you have gained Accountancy practice payroll experience.
Payroll Officer duties and responsibilities:
Working in a busy payroll department, you will be required to assist with and/or carry out the following:
1. Processing payroll of varying frequencies (weekly, monthly, fortnightly, etc.), including the collation of timesheets etc.
2. All aspects of administration including starters and leavers.
3. Ensuring all necessary payments are made within the deadlines set, for example pension contributions and BACS salary payments.
4. Liaising with HMRC and other relevant third parties.
