My client is a leading Engineering and Construction membership organisation currently recruiting for a Communications Manager.

Main Purpose:
Creation and delivery of the Communication Plan. This will be achieved through generation of high quality, impactful and authoritative on and offline content which continuously improves and reinforces industry role and position; value-add for Members and its story and reputation. In addition, act as the lead media relations contact.
Job Description
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Proactively liaise with colleagues across the business particularly Directors, the Head of Marketing and Communications, Head of External Affairs and policy leads to develop our on and offline rolling communications plan. Content to include articles, news releases, blogs, videos, talking heads, webinars, podcasts, infographics, surveys etc.
2. Deliver the agreed communications plan through a range of on and offline channels, including the bi-weekly eBulletin, within agreed budgets and deadlines to meet the targets set.
3. Responsible for creating and editing the eBulletin, on a fortnightly basis ensuring the Member focused content is timely, accurate and relevant. In addition, work with the external media agency to ensure agreed advertising is appropriately placed within it and targeted revenues are achieved.
4. Manage the press office and regular engagement with industry, regional and national media to build positive relations, and to position us as the lead industry voice and thought leader.
5. Work with Marketing and Communications team colleagues to maximise content dissemination ensuring messaging is consistent and aligned with the Communications Plan and encourages reader engagement.
6. Measure, monitor and review communications activity, including content engagement and media hits, to share with colleagues which will aid and inform decision making for effective future improvements.
7. Engage with our Members to develop case studies and testimonials which showcase and promote the value of our membership.
8. Attend relevant membership and industry events to capture and generate engaging digital and written content.
9. Carry out any other duties commensurate with the role, as may from time to time be decided by the Head of Marketing and Communications.

Experience, Knowledge and Skills required:
1. A strong understanding about creation and delivery of digital content including videos, webinars, podcasts, infographics.
2. A strong understanding about the fundamentals of journalism and successfully managing and giving advice to others about responding to (sometimes challenging) media enquiries or social media posts.
3. A strong understanding of Public Relations theory and practice through online and offline channels.
4. Experience of membership associations and/or the construction/engineering business environment.
5. Excellent B2B copywriting and proof-reading skills.
6. Project management and operational planning skills.
7. Experience of budget management.
8. Knowledge of a variety of software products desirable including Adobe suite and MS Office.
