Hillmorton High School is a diverse urban coeducational school situated in the South-West of Christchurch. The school is a fast growing Y7–13 school with dedicated middle and senior schools. We have a roll of around 1400 and with further building works underway, the roll is expected to increase in the next few years. We provide students with a caring and supportive environment, to help them achieve academic excellence, leadership skills and a love of learning.
Our Health and PE department are looking for a future focused, creative minded teacher with initiative and passion for this subject. This position is for a fixed term period to cover a staff member on maternity leave from 10th March 2025 to 11th July 2025.
Applicants must have experience with NCEA, in particular the new level one changes and the implementation of Mātauranga Māori within the subject area. Along with this, applicants must have a strong ability to develop positive relationships for learning.
A commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the understanding and ability to teach using culturally responsive and relational pedagogy is essential.
The successful applicant must be a NZ registered teacher and be willing to commit to our co-curricular programme also.
