BUSINESS UNIT The Controllers group is responsible for safeguarding the firm's assets: to help maintain the integrity of Goldman Sachs' finances and expenditures. Through careful consideration and analysis of firm finances, objectives and strategies, we ensure that the firm's businesses continue to be profitable and efficiently run. Controllers also ensure that all business practices are in compliance with financial and regulatory requirements worldwide. Since contact with virtually every part of the firm is essential to Controllers, professionals in the department experience Goldman Sachs businesses, products and sophisticated technology systems in depth. The Investment Accounting team performs the accounting and reporting functions under local as well as USGAAP for the firm's investments in various real estate, loan and private equity portfolios. Job Summary And Responsibilities Prepare monthly/quarterly/ annual financial accounts closing for multiple entities as per IFRS, USGAAP & other local GAAP requirements and disclosures Preparation and analysis of financial statements, including resolving complex technical accounting issues and disclosure requirements, and liaising with external auditors Take full ownership and become the subject matter expert (or Financial Controller equivalent) for entire legal entities, or significant processes for large entities, across many of the firm's different business lines Understanding the business and strategy of your entities, keeping up-to-date with business and market developments and communicating this effectively to key stakeholders Provide variance analysis for such FS. Good knowledge of US GAAP / IFRS is required. Manage quarterly Balance sheet substantiation and SOX process Support intercompany balances, reconciliations, payments etc Responsible for cash management, payments and quarterly capital planning process Assist in ad hoc requests for financial information of entities assigned Review/prepare tax calculations per applicable rate per jurisdictions Liaise with other internal departments within the firm (e.g. tax, legal, treasury, deal teams, middle office) globally in the course of his/ her work. BASIC QUALIFICATION CA qualification with strong accounting knowledge Good knowledge of US GAAP & working experience in preparing Financial statments & notes to accounts under IFRS.
