This is a varied role involving Ward Reception duties, Administrative support to the Senior Nursing team and Unit Matron, some Clinic organisation as well as attending and minuting Departmental and Regional meetings.

As the Administrator for the Intensive Care and High Dependency Unit you will have a varied role which will primarily involve Ward Reception duties, acting as a representative for the unit, often dealing with families who are in need of a calm and caring first point of contact at a time that can be distressing. ICU is a highly emotive environment due to the patients and circumstances involved with admissions to ICU level care.
You will need to be an organised and self-motivated individual who is capable of fulfilling many additional roles including providing Administrative support to the unit Manager, Departmental Lead, Clinical Educator and Senior Nursing Staff. You will have excellent computer and keyboard skills, ideally holding a qualification such as an NVQ level 3 in Business Administration/Customer Care or equivalent experience and possibly previous Ward Receptionist experience and/or experience using Administrative processes on EPIC.
As a unit we hold follow-up Clinics that you would be responsible for booking/arranging and have many staff, departmental and regional meetings that you would be required to arrange, attend and minute. You may also be able to get involved in some audits that occur as well as recruitment processes and there will be the opportunity for further training should it be relevant to the job role.
We are a small, friendly unit who work very much as a team, but you will also be required to use your initiative in your daily work in order to best provide an excellent service to our patients and their relatives as well as the ICU staff and the other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
Working Pattern: hours per week. Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 16:00.
