The role
Our Warehouse Operations are vital in exceeding our customer’s requirements and ensure our hubs are thriving work environments. Our Warehouse Supervisors lead from the front and are very hands-on when it comes to people management. Without their industry knowledge, leadership skills, and passion for people development, we would not be the successful business we are today.
This role works to a set shift pattern of Monday to Friday 16:00 - 00:30.
Key accountabilities
1. Reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager, providing direction and leadership to a small team of colleagues, working collaboratively to ensure the smooth running of the Warehouse.
2. Ensuring the team comply with all company and departmental rules, safe systems of work, and quality procedures.
3. Maintaining effective communication links with both line manager, other shift managers, and team with pre-shift briefings and toolbox talks.
4. Using both manual handling and MHE to manoeuvre tyres of various weights and sizes.
5. Leading by example and promoting essential safety standards, good housekeeping, and site best practice at all times.
Skills & experience
1. A natural leader and motivator of people and teams, with experience as a Team Leader, Supervisor, or similar role in Supply Chain or similar industry is desirable.
2. Ideally have licences and experience of MHE (VNA, Reach, Counter Balance, LLOP).
3. Have previous experience of working in and enjoy fast-paced customer-driven warehouse environments.
4. Must be well organised, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, good knowledge of IT and systems, and a keen eye for detail.
5. People-focused, with an ability to develop themselves and others professionally within a distribution environment.
6. Previous use of Warehouse Management Systems would be advantageous.
7. Happy to work in a physically demanding role.
