Engineering Technician multi-skilled electrically biased (Pennybridge) Hours of Work: 41.5hr per week on 8-week rota cycle, working 6 weeks of days and 2 weeks of nights split out over the cycle (normally 4 x 12hr days in row with exception of one week at 5 days that includes a 9hr Saturday). Nights are 5 x 9hrs in a row. As an Multi-Skilled Engineering Technician you will be an integral part of the site engineering multi-skilled team dedicated to providing best in class engineering support to the manufacturing operation. Your role is to optimise production performance, quality and minimise plant downtime through effective preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis and repairs. Continuous improvement LEAN projects, routine preventative maintenance, overhauling mechanical plant and machinery, maintaining M&E utilities and building fabric, modifications and providing support for the installation and commissioning of new plant and equipment. Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager and Engineering Supervisor, your main duties will include: Problem solving, fault diagnosis and repair on a range of manufacturing equipment. Carrying out PPM tasks to help minimalize equipment failure rates. Making improvements to optimise the performance of all machinery, plant, buildings and services to minimise machine down time and optimise OEE. Work alongside production colleagues to optimise process set up and control system configurations to achieve maximum yield and process control performance. Develop and work on effective preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis and repairs, responding timely and proactively to plant and equipment faults. Through structured continuous improvement devise initiatives to increase efficiencies and reduce costs and implement engineering projects as appropriate. Support the installation and commissioning of new plant and equipment. Adhere to the companys health, safety, environmental and personal standards policies. Maintaining accurate records on IT Systems. The Person: Essential: An electrically bias multi skilled engineering apprenticeship / training programme with a recognised UK qualification A minimum of3 years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment Highly motivated and have the ability to perform in a challenging, expanding and pressurised environment. Excellent communication skills in English (both written and oral). Excellent problem-solving skills. IT Literate.
