This role is offered on a hybrid basis, which involves a combination of working from our offices and also remotely.
We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join our high performing Bids Team here at RS, as a Bid Manager covering the Public Sector area of our business. This role has great growth and development opportunity and will be perfect for a collaborative and innovative person with a proven track record of collaboration and of course strong bid/proposal writing.
What else you will be doing in the role
This individual will truly sit at the heart of our company and be a massive part of our success moving forward. Beyond drafting and overseeing bids, you will be working in collaboration with our Sales Team as a 'go-to public sector expert' attending their meetings and making sizeable contributions to the decision-making process on our company's direction in our Public Sector business covering various government departments and institutions.
This is a really varied role, but we hope below will give you a good feel for what you would be doing as our Bid Manager covering the public sector:
* Manage the end-to-end bid process, including coordinating internal stakeholders, writing compelling proposals, and ensuring compliance with public procurement regulations.
* Develop and maintain bid/no-bid criteria specific to public sector opportunities.
* Create high-quality, compliant tender responses that align with evaluation criteria and procurement frameworks.
* Lead sales and bid teams through complex tender processes, including Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs) and Invitations to Tender (ITTs).
* Conduct post-bid analysis and manage the feedback process to improve future submissions.
* Utilise Salesforce to manage the end-to-end tender process and communications and Microsoft Teams for working documents.
* Lead or support handover to Contract Implementation from the Bid Team once bid is won, ensuring that a full and robust understanding of all aspects of the deal is embedded within the Contract Implementation Team, maximising probability of successful execution.
A bit about what you will need to be successful in this position
