Our client is seeking a Purchaser/Buyer to join their growing team based in Bridgwater Somerset easily commutable with onsite parking available.
The role of a Purchaser/Buyer is brand new to this global organisation with its rapidly growing team. This role is Office based with the option of flexible hybrid working.
Monday to Friday
Pay: Negotiable
The Purchaser/Buyer is responsible for the day-to-day execution of procurement activities, specifically:
-Managing existing vendor relationships
- Identification of new vendors
- Price negotiations
-Contract management
Also the Purchaser/Buyer will be responsible for:
• Replenishment - order placing and associated progress chasing of finished products sourced from third parties, covering:
-3PM
-Turn-Key
-Non-Turn-Key
• Setting up of new Supplier accounts and maintenance of vendor pricing with the Company’s ERP system.
• To support the Operations and Quality functions in the investigation of supplier complaints and non-conformances; and in the measurement of the performance of key vendors.
• To support the wider UK Site team structure to optimise customer service levels and ensure that it continues to meet its planned target levels.
• To support the Continuous Improvement of Supply Chain activities within the local UK and wider regional organisation
What we want from you the Purchaser/buyer:
• Minimum 5 years experience in a Procurement role, preferably within a manufacturing and/or chemical industry environment.
• Demonstrable track record of managing multiple vendors across a large and complex product item portfolio.
• Strong negotiation skills and demonstrable experience of delivering cost reductions by developing positive working relationships with multiple vendors.
• Familiarity with operating MRP systems within ERP environments, preferably Microsoft Dynamics.
• Experience and competence with use of the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint; and experience of using reporting tools such as Power BI.
• Excellent planning, organisational and task prioritisation skills, with the ability to self-prioritise own workload.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all organisational levels.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to develop strong collaborative working relationships with both internal and external customers to deliver organsational goals.
