SENIOR STRUCTURAL ENGINEER
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum plus pension, parking, profit share, private healthcare, professional subscriptions, and cycle-to-work scheme.
THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and dedicated Senior Structural Engineer to join a talented team of Chartered, mid-level, and graduate engineers. This role will involve supporting the Structures Team in delivering high-quality engineering solutions across a diverse range of projects. The successful candidate will have strong experience in structural engineering, working on complex and challenging designs from conception to completion. Projects include bespoke new build structures, refurbishment, and heritage works, with a focus on sustainable engineering design and reuse.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 2:1 BSc/BEng in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent
At least 8 years of post-qualification experience in civil and structural engineering
Full UK driving license and own transport
Chartered or near-chartered status with a relevant body (MICE or MIStructE)
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Detailed structural design and detailing using relevant UK and European codes of practice
2. Producing preliminary design solutions and reviewing with clients
3. Producing detailed designs, calculations, specifications, and conducting technical reviews
4. Attending design, project progress, and client engagement meetings
5. Liaising with contractors, clients, third parties, and stakeholders to address technical queries
6. Designing structures in steelwork, reinforced/precast concrete, masonry, and timber
7. Conducting structural appraisals of commercial, industrial, and residential structures
8. Managing project costs, timelines, and sustainability criteria
9. Complying with CDM Regulations and designer duties
10. Producing sketches, drawings, and structural appraisal reports
11. Supervising CAD/Revit technicians and junior engineers
12. Supporting business development, marketing, and identifying new leads
