Location: Waterlooville
Days & Hours: Fixed Term Contract for 12 months - 24 hours per week to support mother with baby. Exact working pattern to be worked in accordance with a rota, but will consist of 12 hour shifts split over days, weekends and nights (initially waking nights). Additional hours may be available to cover absences of the current team. The role may become permanent after the Fixed Term Contract ends, with hours reviewed to meet the care required for Sarah and her baby.
Pay:
£14.50 per hour, Monday to Friday, Days
£15.50 per hour, Weekends & Bank Holidays, Days
£15.50 Mon - Fri, Waking Nights, 7pm - 7am
£16.50 Weekend, Waking Nights, 7pm - 7am
£NLW Sleeping Nights (currently £11.44 per hour for aged 21+)
Driver required? Essential (will need own car to get to work and whilst out and about with our client)
Driving Clients Car? No, using your own car, a mileage will be paid and you will require business insurance
Essential Experience: Working with adults with traumatic brain injury and/or mental health difficulties, experience with babies
Desirable: Experience working with adults to create a more independent and therapeutic lifestyle
Pets: 1 dog
Accommodation (while on duty): Flat in close proximity to client’s family

We are seeking a patient and caring support worker for Sarah, she is bright and engaging and is in her early 30s. Loves music, singing and writing her own lyrics along with fitness and attending the gym. She also enjoy walking her small dog, swimming, and cooking. She lives near a very supportive family.
Sarah had a traumatic brain injury and can present with high levels of fatigue, visual impairment, and anxiety. She can have difficulties with time management along with understanding processes and regulating her emotions when anxious. She requires calm explanation, reassurance, and support.
Your role will involve supporting Sarah with her newborn baby. To provide assistance with diary planning, budgeting, and establishing normal and safe activities and daily routines with her newborn as her baby grows. Supporting Sarah to attend various medical appointments. Supporting Sarah to establish a comfortable and sustainable daily routine under the guidance of the Case Manager.
This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated person to develop existing skills and support within a rewarding role for someone who can communicate effectively and an ability to work with patience, empathy, trust and compassion.
