Bookkeeper
A nationwide Bookkeeping and Accountancy practice is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join its busy, friendly office in central Chester.
This is a well-established firm with an excellent reputation as an employer and offices throughout the UK.
The role is best suited to a Bookkeeper with practice experience.

The Bookkeeper's role
As a Bookkeeper, you will work with a diverse portfolio of clients, ranging from sole traders to limited companies, including some of considerable size.
The ideal candidate will be confident in preparing accounts, tax returns, and handling all types of bookkeeping tasks, while providing exceptional service to their clients.
This position is perfect for a motivated individual who enjoys variety, is keen to take on more responsibility, and can work without supervision.
The career progression pathway for this role is upwards to Senior Bookkeeper, rather than a different accounting role, so the ideal candidate will wish to remain in a bookkeeping role for the long term.
Responsibilities include:
* Portfolio Management: Oversee a varied portfolio of clients, acting as their primary point of contact for financial and accounting matters and, in particular, reviewing their work
* Accounts Preparation: Prepare annual accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
* Tax Returns: Prepare and file personal and corporate tax and VAT returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
* Management Accounting: Accruals; depreciation; balance sheet checks etc.
* Client Interaction: Build and maintain strong client relationships, offering advice and support as needed.
* Software Use: Utilise accounting software such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent, TaxCalc, MoneySoft, and Virtual Cabinet up to trial balance.
The Bookkeeper
* Confident and competent to work independently, without close supervision.
* Strong communication skills with fluency in English
* Previous experience within an accountancy / bookkeeping practice
* Experience of servicing multiple clients simultaneously
* Either Qualified By Experience (QBE) or AAT Level 4
* Good knowledge of Accountancy Software packages (additional training will be provided)
* You must have full, indefinite right to work in the UK
* You must live a commutable distance to Chester (parking permit provided)
