The Lulworth Estate, nestled in the heart of Dorset's stunning countryside, spans over 12,000 acres of diverse landscapes including dramatic coastline, lush woodlands, tranquil farmland, distinctive heathland, and chalk grassland, thus offering a rare opportunity to enhance and conserve some of the UK’s most treasured natural landscapes. These unique habitats – filled with a rich variety of flora and fauna - are central to the estate’s conservation efforts, supporting biodiversity and contributing to the area’s environmental importance.
Home to two of the most iconic natural landmarks in the UK - Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove – both part of the Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, these awe-inspiring features draw visitors from all over the world, adding to the estate’s environmental and cultural significance.
The Director of Natural Environment will provide pivotal leadership and oversee the long-term management of the Lulworth Estate’s natural environment and resources with a strong emphasis on operational efficiency, financial sustainability, and innovation.
At the forefront of developing the estate’s conservation strategy, the Director will blend practical land management expertise with cutting-edge environmental knowledge, ensuring that the estate’s landscapes are actively conserved and enhanced for future generations, while ensuring regulatory compliance and financial performance.
We are seeking a passionate, technically strong individual with a structured approach to sustainably managing natural environments.
It is an exciting time to join the Estate and be a part of a newly formed senior leadership team, playing a central role in shaping direction and ensuring impeccable service and exceptional environments that reflect the soul of the location, enhance nature, community and customer experience, enable connection and prove fulfilling workplaces, whilst ensuring strong commercial success and long-term sustainability for future generations.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this role offers the chance to make a lasting impact on one of the UK’s most ecologically significant regions.
