As a SEN LSA, you will play a crucial role in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, assisting teachers in delivering personalised support, and helping students gain confidence in their abilities. SEN Learning Support Assistant Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with special educational needs. Assist in planning and delivering individualised learning activities under teacher guidance. Support students with social, emotional, and academic development. Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor progress. Encourage positive behaviour and social interaction among students. Support students with personal care and mobility needs, if required. Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN coordinators, and external professionals. Maintain accurate records and report student progress to the teaching team. Requirements for the SEN LSA Role: Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Teaching Assistance). A degree in Psychology, Counselling, Education, or a related field. Previous experience as an SEN Learning Support or in a similar role. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff. A patient, compassionate, and adaptable approach to supporting children.
