Optimum Recruitment Group are proud to be working with this well-established business based on the outskirts of Pontefract, who are recruiting for a Finance Business Partner.
As the successful candidate you will be a fully qualified accountant with some post qualification experience and solid finance business partnering skills.
Experience in analysing, digesting and communicating data and providing insight and commentary for discussion is essential.
You will need to be an ambitious and career driven finance professional who is a passionate business partner, able to demonstrate adeptness at engaging with internal and external stakeholders at all times and who can make decisions with a significant degree of independence.
Reporting to the CFO, you will take responsibility for:
1. Providing a strong financial counterpoint in all site-based decisions, both strategic and operational.
2. Business Partnering, being the connection between the finance team and the operational business, raising risks early and communicating the story of what is happening on-site.
3. Ensuring complete and accurate profit and cashflow forecasting for projects, working with various departments, challenging assumptions and reporting to business stakeholders.
4. Producing clear, accurate, monthly and weekly reports on project progress.
5. Influencing a range of stakeholders, across levels of seniority and departments, building relationships and responding at speed to queries.
6. Managing the reporting of over/underspend and the appropriate reserves.
7. Carrying out financial risk-assessments of any new potential commercial decisions.
8. Risk-managing project stacks, advising key stakeholders early of potential risks and planning contingencies.
9. Providing commercial recommendations based on a deep understanding of the business, cost benefit analysis and accurate analysis of development options.
10. Constantly monitor the operations from a commercial perspective, proposing options to minimise costs and maximise revenue wherever possible.
11. Analysing and benchmarking sales, advising on base loads, pricing and variables where appropriate.
12. Giving regular clear, concise presentations to all levels of management, the finance team, CFO, chairing or contributing to meetings with the board, explaining finance to non-finance professionals and exercising tact in sharing risks and concerns.
13. Prioritising a complex range of queries and tasks under pressure, to deliver what is needed for the project.
The salary banding is between £45,000 - £60,000 (depending on skills and experience) plus benefits.
