What will the apprentice be doing?
Your average day would be spent speaking directly to a variety of stakeholders – giving them advice and helping them out with our more complex day to day problems. This involves getting to grips with many different customer environments, systems and technologies which is what makes working for an MSP exciting and challenging in equal measure.
Typical duties with this role include:
1. Working on the helpdesk receiving telephone and email requests from clients as well as making call-backs
2. Investigating and resolving faults and incidents with the IT systems we look after
3. Providing remote support using our RMM (Remote Monitoring and Management) system
4. Travelling to site to carry out support work where required across the South-East and occasionally London
5. Monitoring backup systems and their status
6. Responding to alerts and managing incidents, outages and our response
7. Performing proactive maintenance and projects – or making recommendations
8. Managing tickets and jobs, maintaining accurate notes, paperwork and documentation
9. Installations and small projects
10. Support and configuration of Hosted Telephone Systems (VoIP)
You’d also work up to these duties as you progress:
1. Cloud, hosting and data centre operations
2. Ticket escalations and more complex problems

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
Full-time employment is expected once the apprenticeship is complete. Further training opportunities with Higher Level Apprenticeships are also available.
