Teaching Personnel are excited to work with an exceptional school based in Durham. The school are looking for a experienced HLTA to join there dedicated team.
Responsibilities
* Support the teacher by focusing on pupils’ needs, adapting to scenarios, leaving the teacher free to get on with the job of delivering lessons
* Set up any equipment or tech requirements needed in the lessons, ready for use.
* Work one-to-one with pupils to ensure that they’re getting the most out of what’s being taught in the classroom.
* Help to keep disruption to a minimum and de-escalate any challenges you do face with your impressively calm, rational approach.
* Work closely with our therapists to make sure every pupil gets all the mental health support they need to be able to enjoy a fulfilling school experience.
Qualifications
* Relevant NVQ3 or equivalent and HLTLA qualification or equivalent
* At least 5 years’ experience as a Teaching and Learning Assistant and/or as a classroom assistant
* Up to date knowledge and understanding of the practices and procedures within education relating to the welfare, safety and education of children
* Able to identify and work towards specific goals with children and colleagues
* Able to maintain good relationships with children and adults.
* Able to prioritise tasks and act on own initiative
* Able to work as part of a team and be flexible
* Able to motivate and encourage children to develop to their full potential.
* Occasional attendance at meetings outside of normal school hours
* Emotionally resilient

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
