Job overview
This post would be perfect for post FY2 doctors who are keen to take a break from training, and gain experience or qualifications in your area of interest. This is a fixed term post for an initial period of 2 years, and you will be covering Berrow ward at Weston General Hospital.
Main duties of the job
This is an exciting time for our newly merged hospital, and we are looking for two doctors to join our growing respiratory team. We have two ST1-2 positions in Respiratory medicine commencing April 2025.
These posts are for Monday to Friday, 9:00-17:00 only so no on-calls are required.
We have redesigned our trust doctor programme following feedback from previous cohorts. Our flexible model aims to meet the needs of doctors who have decided to break from training.

Person specification
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
* Previous knowledge and experience of General Medicine and the interpretation of common blood tests and ECG
* 1 year at F2/SHO level in General Medicine
Desirable criteria
* 6 months experience in Acute Medicine or ED as F2/CT1
Skills and Abilities
Essential criteria
* Arterial and venipuncture
* Insertion of venous cannulae
* Tapping of pleural and ascetic fluid and occasionally placing a chest or ascetic drain
* IV fluid management
* Administration of IV drugs
* Assessing the INR and warfarin prescribing
* Blood transfusion
* Willingness to work flexibly according to trusts need
Desirable criteria
* Ability to perform a variety of practical procedures (temporary pacemaker, central line insertion)
Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria
* IT skills on all Microsoft packages
* Fluent English speaker

* Previous leadership experience
