We would love to have you join our team Job Description The Field Service Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless delivery of technical support and services to end users, clients, and internal departments. The role involves a diverse range of responsibilities, from onsite and offshore field support to hands-on technical tasks such as control panel wiring, equipment maintenance, and documentation. As a key contributor to project and engineering support, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring efficient project execution and high-quality client service. Based at our site in Maldon (UK), this position requires flexibility and adaptability with opportunities to work on challenging and varied projects, both domestically and internationally. Duties and Responsibilities Attend onshore and offshore sites both in UK and abroad as required, including short notice site attendance as a Field Support Technician supporting Field Engineers in delivering quality jobs to our clients. Panel wiring of control panels including testing and fault finding onsite and in our workshop. Test, repair, maintain and generally support test equipment, including the upkeep of procedural, and testing documentation. Provide technical input for proposals with regards to required materials. Technical input on procurement of Materials and generation of Bill of Materials to support ongoing jobs. Generation of Job Cards. Peer checking of reports and documentation. Prepare all necessary paper work required prior to and post site visits, including Site Visit Report, Method Statements and Risk Assessment. Provide follow up support services as part of the resolution of outstanding actions and issues, progressing to closeout. Provide engineering input into new/existing projects using application and/or site knowledge to help progress project deliveries. Plan, schedule, coordinate with external parties’ project or support deliverables, including management of own and others time. The Individual Electrical or Wiring Apprenticeship is preferred. Previous experience of panel wiring is essential. With the ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings and wiring schematics. Working knowledge of site working permit systems is preferable. Offshore Medical and survival required (Can be arranged if not held currently). Understanding of Control and Instrumentation is preferable. Ability to work independently and to adapt to dynamic working conditions. Good communication skills – must be a team player. Computer literate, with experience of PC-based word-processing, spreadsheet and database programs.
